Who are we?

We’re the University of Oregon Innovation and Entrepreneurship Club — a campus wide organization that inspires and gives students the opportunity to gain experience, network and learn about local resources in regards to innovation. Through hosting and planning campus and city wide events we hope to inspire and give students the opportunity to learn, create and get inspired. Events will consist of small monthly events as well as two large annual signature events.

Are you Eligible?

To be eligible for any of the following positions you must:

  • Be a good standing University of Oregon student and club member.

  • Be able to meet for one (1) hour a week during the academic year.

  • Attend 90% of all required meetings and club hosted events.

  • Be able to complete all requested deliverables within a timely manner on your own time.

Position Descriptions

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Is This You?

  • You’re able to oversee all operations, functions and activities within the club. You’re someone who can be the face of the organization, responsible for giving the proper strategic direction and implementing a high quality vision. You’re an influential leader with the ability to lead and motivate your executive team. You have great communication skills and take a holistic approach in managing the club’s operations. You’re here to lead the organization towards the realization of its mission.

What You’ll Need:

  • A minimum of one year experience as an IEC executive.

  • Experience in developing strategies and plans.

  • Ability to apply successful fundraising and networking techniques.

  • Strong understanding of club structure and measures of performance.

  • In depth knowledge of club governance principles and leadership best practices.

  • An analytical mind capable for “out-of-the-box” thinking to solve problems.

  • Outstanding organization and leadership abilities.

  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and public speaking skills.

EXTERNAL RELATIONS COORDINATOR

Is This You?

  • You’re self-motivated and ambitious, able to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You are able to prioritize, manage, and complete multiple projects and have an attention to detail. Lastly you’re digital media savvy and have the ability to exercise good judgment and diplomacy.

What You’ll Need:

  • Professional communication etiquette.

  • Experience in Mailchimp and simple HTML.

  • Orgsync backend skills.

  • Organization skills and an attention to detail.

Tasks:

  • Identify and research potential donors, including but not limited to corporations, foundations, and individuals

  • Assist in creating communications materials needed for club event promotion and bi-weekly resource newsletters.

  • Manage all day-to-day communication activities in a timely, responsive, and mission-oriented manner.

  • Draft all meeting agendas and generate meeting minutes.

  • Maintain positive, working relationships with stakeholders.

  • Plan campus wide tabling.

  • Other job duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

SPONSORSHIP & DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

Is This You?

  • You’re self-motivated and ambitious, able to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You are able to prioritize, manage, and complete multiple projects and have an attention to detail. You love raising money and creating sponsorship relations as well as help develop different aspects of an organization. Lastly you have an eye for design and web development.

What You’ll Need:

  • Professional communication etiquette.

  • Experience in Wix and an eye for design.

  • Orgsync backend skills.

  • System and structure development skills.

  • Contractual writing skills are a plus.

  • Networking skills.

  • Analytical and data collection skills.

  • Organization skills and an attention to detail.

Tasks:

  • Assist in creating communications materials needed for donor solicitation.

  • Update, maintain and build the club website.

  • Build sponsorship relationships that will result in financial, object and other benefits.

  • Collect statistics and analyze data.

  • Other job duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

CAMPAIGN & MARKETING COORDINATOR

Is This You?

  • You’re self-motivated and ambitious, able to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative. You are able to prioritize, manage, and complete multiple projects and have an attention to detail. You probably study advertising or marketing and have a creative mindset. You like to be the boss of a brand and want to find ways to promote it and what it has to offer.

What You’ll Need:

  • Eye for design.

  • Strategy and Project Management skills.

  • Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign experience.

  • Public speaking skills.

  • Analytical and data collection skills.

  • Organization skills and an attention to detail.

  • The ability to create and promote content on social media.

Tasks:

  • Create strategic and creative briefs.

  • Develop a campaign per large event to promote community engagement.

  • Create copy for all event related promotions.

  • Collect and organize data.

  • Create brands and graphics for club hosted events and promotions to becoming a member.

  • Other job duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

OPERATIONS & EVENT COORDINATOR

Is This You?

  • You’re self-motivated and ambitious, able to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative. You are able to prioritize, manage, and complete multiple projects and have an attention to detail. You love to organize and make sure everything is running smoothly. You're the one making sure things are in place for seamless execution.

What You’ll Need:

  • Club structure and operations understanding.

  • Project management skills.

  • Orgsync backend skills.

  • Organization skills.

  • Professional communication etiquette.

Tasks:

  • Keep track of members while making sure they're good standing.

  • Account for all club finances and report to the club advisor.

  • Be the contact for sponsors when making a donation.

  • Make sure all club operations run smoothly and change them if needed.

  • Plan, book, and manage details and relations for club events, as needed.

  • Other job duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

EXECUTIVE ASSOCIATE POSITIONS

Are you someone who can’t take on a whole executive position but would still love to participate in making a difference at the UO? An executive associate is an officer that assists any of the above executives in completing specific tasks needed to execute plans on time.
